The Return to Embodiment Podcast

Lisa Clark on the pedagogy of embodiment as a creative process of wonderment, moving us from the studio into the world.

As a student of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen & Body-Mind Centering® since the 1980’s, Lisa Clark describes embodiment as a creative practice of wonderment. It begins in subtle movements, incubated with patient curiosity, and expands to engage the myriad relationships within and beyond the body. This lemniscape of self, other, and the broader world apply within and beyond the studio.

BODY-MIND CENTERING® & YOGA

BMC® & Yoga is a deep, internal study of the body and movement. Our workshops and immersion series, explore the practice of yoga through key principles of the body systems, developmental movement, and the direct experience of the tissues and cells. They open a door to the transformative aspects of yoga, and take asanas from an external approach into the subtleties of the yoga practice.

  • Discover new aspects of the postures from the perspective of different body systems

  • Experience greater depth, ease and flow of movement in forming traditional yoga asanas

  • Develop a yoga practice based on personal needs and abilities

  • Explore sequential relationships between postures from a developmental perspective

  • Observe and analyze the movement of others using this subtle and dynamic perspective

  • Illuminate new aspects of yoga

The principles and techniques learned in our workshops, immersions, and classes can be used for personal development and for professional enhancement. We recommended it for anyone interested in movement, yoga, somatic studies, and other body-mind disciplines. No prior experience with Body-Mind Centering® is necessary.
