Originally Offered Livestream March 20 - April 25, 2021

THIS ONLINE SERIES is composed of recorded livestream classes, plus additional bonus yoga classes to continue your integration. A total of 50+ hours of embodied learning, in an easy online library format to access as often as you wish.

Live Stream Class / 20 Recorded Classes / 38 hours. These classes were originally presented live on zoom and recorded. They are an active combination of presentation, somatization and movement exploration, principles of embodiment and application, with discussion and questions.

Pre-Recorded Class / Ten 75-minute Classes / 12 hours. These classes are designed to continue your integration of the material presented in each section. Classes are embodied explorations of yoga with application of material to asana, sequencing, breath, meditation and philosophy.

EMBODYING THE ORGANS AS KEYSTONES OF VITALITY IN THE PRACTICE OF YOGA

Our organs are part of our internal environment and inform our movement. The vitality of our organs is reflected in our external form. The organs are the contents, offering volume, fluidity, and three dimensionality. Through movement they countersupport and balance each other. When embodied they illuminate internal relationships and connectivity, from inner to outer expression, and support for the limbs and spine.

This series will explore how the organs express organic flow, and new pathways of connection and alignment within our practice. Classes are based on Body-Mind Centering® foundations, as a basis for experiencing ourselves in the practice of yoga.

  • Yoke sac to gut tube: the development of the organ central axis

  • Balancing the three vertical axes: gut tube, notochord, neural tube

  • Lungs: upper limb support in the practice of yoga

Section Three

  • Peritoneum Cavity

  • The mid-abdominal organs: liver, gallbladder, stomach,pancreas, spleen

  • Heart, pericardium, and thoracic diaphragm

  • Organ asymmetrical movement and support of the midbody

  • Ways to address imbalance, collapse and fixation in the organ system

WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR?

The principles and techniques learned in this course can be used for personal development and for professional enhancement. We recommended it for anyone interested in movement, dance, yoga, bodywork, somatic studies, education, meditation, and other body-mind disciplines.

No previous experience with Body-Mind Centering® or Yoga is necessary for this course.
