Embodied Developmental Movement and the Skeletal System: A Dynamic Approach To Alignment and Sequencing

Livestream classes are presented online via Zoom. They are an active combination of presentation, movement exploration, principles of embodiment and application, with time for discussion and questions.

Each live class is recorded and stored in your student account with lifetime access. If you can’t make the live classes, you can follow the classes on your own time schedule.

EMBODIED DEVELOPMENTAL MOVEMENT & THE SKELETAL SYSTEM: A Dynamic Approach to Alignment and Sequencing

Exploring the Basic Neurocellular Patterns (BNP) creates a fuller three-dimensional sense of self. You will find them valuable in asana practice for creating integrated patterns of movement, and expanding your knowledge of building asanas and sequences from a developmental perspective.

The bones create our basic foundation, they lever us through space and support our weight in relationship with gravity. The BNP enliven and support the skeletal system with clear pathways and relationships between the spine and limbs, and freedom of the central axis.

This series will explore the key skeletal principles of the lower limbs, upper limbs, and central axis. Adding the support of the Neurocellular patterns as we grow our practice from the ground to standing. The three series will focus on the following:

• New approaches to alignment and sequencing using Body-Mind Centering® principles.

• Greater depth of movement, ease and flow in forming asanas.

• Exploring sequential relationships between postures from a developmental and skeletal perspective.

• How to recognize compensatory patterns, and ways to alleviate them when they occur.

Body-Mind Centering® principles applied to yoga expand our understanding and ability to embody, through which we can create a more unified life and practice for ourselves and others.
